MediScan — Privacy Policy

MediScan (“the App”, “we”, “us”) helps you scan, understand, and manage your medical prescriptions. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, where it is processed, and how you can have it deleted. Because MediScan handles health-related information, we hold ourselves to a high standard of transparency.

1. Data We Collect

2. How Your Data Is Processed

Storage (Supabase). Your account profile, health conditions, prescription records and prescription images are stored on Supabase infrastructure. Prescription images are kept in a private storage bucket accessible only to your authenticated account. All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS).

AI processing (Anthropic). To interpret your prescription, the image and/or its extracted text is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI service, and to generate daily wellness tips, a summary of your medicines and health conditions is sent to the same service. This data is used solely to produce your results and is not used by us to train AI models.

Sign-in and billing (Google). Google Sign-In handles authentication and Google Play Billing handles your subscription. These are governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your data, show third-party advertising, or share your health information with any party other than the processors listed above.

3. Medical Disclaimer

MediScan is an organisational and informational tool. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. AI interpretation of prescriptions may contain errors — always verify against your doctor's original prescription and consult a qualified healthcare professional before making any medical decision.

5. Security

All network communication uses TLS encryption. Database and storage access is protected by row-level security so only your authenticated account can read your records. Prescription images live in a private bucket that is never publicly accessible.

6. Children

MediScan is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Parents managing a child's prescriptions do so under their own account.

7. Changes to This Policy

We will post any changes on this page and update the date above. Material changes will be announced in the App.
